If you're meandering through the vibrant streets of Chinatown in San Francisco, make sure to stop by the hidden gem known as Lady Luck Cafe. Nestled at 956 Grant Ave, this delightful cafe offers a taste of Hong Kong right here in the heart of the Bay Area. With an infectious charm and warm ambiance, it's the perfect spot to break away from the bustle and unwind with a delicious drink or dessert.

At Lady Luck Cafe, the focus is on crafting authentic beverages and sweets, drawing on traditional techniques and fresh ingredients. Customers rave about the Mango Sago, a refreshing cold treat bursting with tropical flavors, which can be yours for a mere $5.50. Another standout is their Hong Kong Style Milk Tea, celebrated for its rich smoothness and strong tea flavor, priced at an astonishingly reasonable $5.00. If you're in the mood for something playful, the Tapioca Pearl Coconut Milk Papaya delivers a delightful tropical twist that’s hard to resist at just $7.00.

Drink enthusiasts will be thrilled to discover a lineup that includes Passion Fruit Lemon Cider and Watermelon Juice, both prepared right before your eyes. Miranda Amu, a satisfied customer, gleefully described her experience sipping watermelon juice that was freshly pressed rather than watered down — an embodiment of the true essence of what a drink should taste like.

For those with a sweet tooth, the dessert offerings are equally tempting. The Dried Lily Bulb & Lotus Seeds Red Bean Paste served hot at $5.50 is a delightful nod to traditional Chinese dessert culture, while the Peach Gum, Lily Bulb, Red Dates, and Lotus Seeds Candy Sugar surely warms the heart with its comforting sweetness, also offered at $5.50.

But it's not just about the food and drinks; the atmosphere at Lady Luck Cafe is one of welcome and warmth. Customers appreciate the friendly service, with staff often bringing smiles to their patrons' faces. As Dylan Collier put it, the service is “good” and the pricing is “reasonable,” making it an accessible stop for both tourists and locals.

To top it all off, the vibrant decor and quaint interior make for a charming setting where you can relax while enjoying your favorite beverage or dessert. Whether you’re seeking a cozy corner to enjoy a quick respite or want a visually appealing backdrop for your social media snaps, Lady Luck Cafe checks all the boxes.

The drinks are absolutely delicious! No artificial flavors, they are all handmade infront of you. This is the first time I had real watermellon juice without someone adding 50% water to it to save money. I saw them squish the melon myself and has watermelon chunks, Loved it!! The servers are so sweet as well! Always putting a smile on our faces and making everyone feel welcomed. The store is really nice and has both indoor and outdoor seating.

Big selection of teas. Good service and reasonably priced. Cheaper than most of the other tea shops in china town.

This place is amazing for its price. My girlfriend and I had gotten the red bean ice cream drink (no. 9) and the Hong Kong sweet milk tea (no. 6). We were expecting the prices to be the “normal” $7 for a drink but was surprised to find that it was around $4-5 a drink. The tea itself was very smooth and rich in flavor. They take a great amount of pride in their work and their attention to detail is like none other; they double up their cups so condensation doesn’t drip on you or in your cup holders. They also freeze their milk tea and use it to keep your drink cold instead of ice (at least for the sweet tea I had gotten) so as to not water down your drink throughout its entirety. I am planning to come back the chance I get to show my sister what an amazing place this cafe is! I would highly recommend anyone to give this place a try. (Apologies for the “unprofessional” photos)

Delicious tea, i took the hong kong style sweet milk drink (no 6) and it was perfect, not too sweet and a strong tea flavor. I paid like 5$ for it, perfectly reasonable price compared to other places. When I was there it was pretty empty so sat inside while waiting for a friend calmly!

Two large BUBBLE TEAS (Got the Thai Tea (orange color) & Taro Tea (purple in color) all for $12 and change. Was nice walking around GRANT (the most color street with Murals in San Fran's Chinatown). The two young men who made the teas were nice and helpful. The cold teas were FANTASTIC!

The best mango sago drink anywhere! The men behind the counter were friendly and took great care of my drink orders - a mango sago drink and a Peet's coffee.
